About Transportation

Our Shine Academy provides afternoon school pickup only.

Transportation is provided from your child's listed school to Our Shine Academy & Learning Center.

Morning transportation, home pickup, and home drop-off are not provided.

What Our Shine Academy Will Do

Pick up your child from the school listed on this form on scheduled days.
Keep a list of children who are expected to ride.
Follow the school's pickup and dismissal rules.
Supervise your child after the school releases your child to our staff.
Safely transport your child to Our Shine Academy.
Check the van after each route.
Follow up when a child who is scheduled for pickup cannot be located.

I understand the transportation service and the Center's responsibilities listed above.

What Parents Must Do

You must tell Our Shine Academy whenever your child will not need scheduled school pickup.

Please contact us if:

Your child is absent from school.
You pick your child up early.
Someone else picks your child up.
Your child has an after-school activity.
Your child will ride the school bus or use another form of transportation.
Your child's dismissal plan changes.
Your child will not be at the normal pickup location for any other reason.

Important: Telling the school, teacher, your child, or another person is not the same as telling Our Shine Academy. You must contact Our Shine Academy directly.

I understand that I must notify Our Shine Academy directly when my child does not need transportation.

Failure to Notify

If your child is scheduled for pickup and is not there, our staff must make sure your child is safe and accounted for. A Failure to Notify may be recorded when your child does not need transportation and Our Shine Academy was not told about the change.

When this happens, we may contact you, the school, or an authorized contact to make sure your child is safe.

Fees

Failure to notify does not remove your responsibility for tuition, transportation charges, or other fees that are due. If your child misses transportation because we were not told about a change, you are responsible for arranging other transportation.

Three Failure to Notify Incidents

Three documented Failure to Notify incidents may result in temporary loss of transportation privileges.

During a transportation suspension, the parent or guardian must arrange transportation. Applicable tuition and transportation fees remain due. Our Shine Academy will tell you when transportation may begin again.

I understand the Failure to Notify policy. I understand that Failure to Notify does not remove my responsibility for fees that are due. I understand that three documented Failure to Notify incidents may result in temporary loss of transportation privileges.

Transportation Safety

Children must:

Stay seated and properly secured.
Follow staff directions.
Keep hands and feet to themselves.
Avoid distracting the driver.
Use safe and respectful behavior.

Unsafe or repeated behavior may result in a parent meeting or temporary loss of transportation privileges.

I have reviewed the transportation safety rules with my child, when age appropriate.
